Diary of a KX Detoxer | Jadis | Day Two
Day one went better than expected thanks to the variety of shakes and food as well as the support from the KX team. On this detox, your meal consists of a starter and main so to help ease into the new style of eating I decided to have the starter (a lovely cauliflower soup) at lunch and the main in the evening.
As my body is working hard to detox itself, I’m toning down the exercise this week. A walk to try and discover more of South London which I’ve recently re-located to rewarded me with this stunning view of The Shard and City from One Tree Hill.
Though it wasn’t a particularly tough walk, albeit a bit hilly, I certainly felt fatigue quickly. Another clear signal that my body needed TLC and a gentler approach through this detox process. I had a herbal tea to help with niggling hunger when I got home and slept better than I have in a while….though I must admit I did dream of food for the first time ever!
Today I tried a fitness regime that is certainly different to my normal programme. My ‘workout’ was a gentle 10 minute cycle followed by a 10 minute sauna session which I repeated 3 times. This helps to speed up the removal of toxins while respecting my limitations during the detox process. I did get a few looks when I when into the sauna fully clothed (it’s certainly not normal sauna etiquette!) but it was a simple programme and afterward I felt exerted but not exhausted.
The food today was a lovely sweet potato and leek soup which will now forever replace dull butternut squash soup in my mind. The dinner was hefty portions of black cod (without Alessandro’s amazing Miso sauce unfortunately), steamed spinach and wild rice. Don’t forget, carbs are not the enemy it’s SUGAR we all need to keep an eye on.
Tomorrow I’m with the Spa team for a Manual Lymphatic Drainage massage. I’m certainly someone who normally opts for a firm sports massage to work out the kinks so it will be interesting to try a technique which is pretty much the antithesis.
