Introducing KX Education & Development Program
Since the conception of KX, education and development have been at the heart of our core values and it is with great pride that we can now introduce our @KX_Life Education and Development Program and the man behind it.
KX have always been dedicated to providing the highest standards of fitness and health to our members; we wanted an in-house education program with a clear progression and development pathway for our staff, instructors and personal trainers. This model has grown and developed over the last 12 years with Aaron Deere, the KX Education and Development Manager taking it to the next level.
Throughout his nine years at KX, Aaron has had the unique experience of developing and progressing his way through the fitness team. It’s this experience, knowledge and understanding that his enabled him to take a pivotal role in teaching and developing those following in his footsteps.
Aaron started to amass his impressive knowledge with a BSc in Exercise Science and is now working his way through an MSc in Nutritional Medicine.
In addition, Aaron has an extensive list of accolades included accredited UKSCA Strength & Conditioning Coach (ASCC) and a Facial Stretch Therapist (FST).
He is also a certified ISSN Sports Nutritionist and has Premier (PTS), PIPC3 and bio-signature certifications.
Another key fundamental of our team is that they must lead by example and inspire through their own actions. Aaron’s extensive sporting & lifting background includes playing basketball to a professional level and amateur boxing.
Here’ Aaron talks about the program and how it’s progressing.
“At the beginning of the year, we developed the 1st Education & Development Manual so each team member can track their progress. Each week we have one-to-one sessions with our Fitness Advisors.”
The Education & Development Programme covers 9 units over a period of approximately 2 years:
- Strength Qualities and Exercise
- Program Design
- Coaching the Core Lifts
- Energy Systems
- Stretching & Warm-ups
- Personality Typing and Consultations
KX Education Workshop available for Members
In addition to the modules, the KX team participate in 4 Education Workshops which are presented by experts in their field.
The Education Workshops are also available for our members. The next workshop: ‘Fit for Consumption: Separating Fact from Fiction in Sports Nutrition’ will be taking place on Wednesday 5th November between 2pm – 4pm.
The sports industry is surrounded by a myriad of dubious, and often conflicting, claims to achieving performance dominance. It can be hard to distinguish the stuff of hard science from that of science fiction.
Aidan Goggins, co-author of ‘The Health Dillusion’ and advisor to the UK Register of Exercise Professionals, unravels the confusion to reveal what nutritional approaches stand up to strict scientific scrutiny and what is merely industry hype.
Aidan will cover topics such as optimal fuelling for exercise, the anabolic window, recovery and over-recovery, the role different foods really have in achieving optimal sports performance and which supplements actually live up to their claims.
