The 10 years experience as a personal trainer and working with top level athletes, mainly bodybuilders, encouraged Slav to use his comprehensive knowledge of the body to develop his own massage technique which allows him to locate, reach and work on important trigger points that lie deep within the muscle. Its this indepth knowledge and personal approach to his clients that keep them coming back regularly.

Deep Tissue Massage is a type of masssage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. In an area where there is chronic muscle tension or injury there are generally adhesions (bands of painful, rigid tissue) in muscles, tendons or ligaments. Adhesions can block circulation, cause pain and inflammation and can limit movement. It works by physically breaking down these adhesions to relieve pain and restore normal movement. During and after the massage you can often experience discomfort and pain but this should subside within a day or two.

Negative Pressure Massage is a superior massage technique that uses a combination of massage movements and negative pressure rather than compression. It rapidly facilitates rigid soft tissue release, loosens and lifts connective tissue, breaks up and drains stagnation while increasing blood and lymph flow to skin and muscles in ways not possible using compression. The suction stretches the soft tissue by puling it up from underlying structures loosening the areas of adhesion or restriction, activating muscle spindle reflexes that relax contractile tissue and retraining the myofacial structures. Furthermore, it stimulates the nervous system reflex to the cerebral cortex, contributing to an increased rate of recovery from pain and disease.

The effects are remarkable on hypertonicity and aching muscles and activate the secretion of synovial fluids, which release joint stiffness in ways not possible using the pressure of traditional massage. It concurrently creates localised expansion of tissue, producing a profound vasodilatation reaction – drawing blood flow to areas of ischemic pain, raising skin temperature, promoting metabolism within the skin tissue for better functioning of sweat and sebaceous glands, flushing capillary beds, draining stagnant blood, toxins and lymph, and resupplying vital nutrients.

Another benefit of Negative Pressure Massage is that it really feels great. The pulling action engages the parasympathetic nervous system, thus allowing a deep relaxation to move through the entire body. It is not unusual to fall asleep when receiving this treatment. Clients are surprised at how relaxed, warm and light they feel – hours, sometimes even days afterwards.
