A yoga practitioner for twenty-two years and a teacher for fifteen, Saskia spent five years studying the Ashtanga system in India, under the guidance of Sri K Pattabhi – one of the most influential yoga teachers of the last century – and his grandson R. Sharath. A result of a near-fatal accident as a teenager, resulting in lasting injuries (as well as a later motorcycle accident), Saskia approaches the practice as a healing modality and a way of breaking the boundaries of ‘perceived’ limitations. Her emphasis is on working through mental and physical patterns to acheieve healthy body/mind mechanics and awareness of breath. Saskia’s style is rooted in tradition and her hands on approach sees her offer adjustments and techniques to address denser areas of the body. She draws on her wide breadth of knowledge to make yoga accessible to new students, as well as to provide a dynamic and demanding practice for those more experienced.
